Transloading

Transloading is the movement of freight from one inbound container into an over the road or rail trailer destined for a single destination.
This process benefits the beneficial cargo owner that has several inbound containers going to a destination due to maximizing the cube utilization from a smaller (40 to 45 foot) container, into a larger 53 foot trailer.
Common ratios are 1.5 to 1.75 containers to one trailer.
Some of the benefits include:
- Fewer Container Moves Inland
- Reduced Repositioning Expense
- Expedite “Hot” Containers
- Ocean Containers Returned Within 24 Hours
